Famous names from all over the globe show up to the Met Gala in extravagant, over the top outfits.

One of the most iconic red carpet events is right around the corner; the Met Gala set to take place again on May 6, 2024. The event has never failed to effortlessly make millions wonderstruck with the glamorous nature of the event and leave viewers astonished with all the unforgettable pop culture moments.

The Met Gala is an annual fundraiser for the Metropolitan Art Museum in New York City. This high society event began in 1948 with fashion publicist Eleanor Lambert opening it intending it to just be a fundraiser which has now transitioned into one of the most anticipated social events in modern day. The Met Gala is highly respected by celebrities, so much so that they would pay a hefty amount of $50,000 to attend—and that’s excluding the table! However, it isn’t as simple as just paying to attend. In order to be invited, one must be selected by Anna Wintour, the editor-in-chief of Vogue.

The met gala has a new unique theme for the dress code every year with this year’s being “Garden of Time”. As the time for 2024 Met Gala approaches, it is the perfect time to reminisce about some of the most iconic dresses from the previous galas.
