What the colours you wear say about you

November 16, 2020

Believe it or not, the colours that one wears can say a lot about them. For those who are trying to portray a certain image of themselves, using these six colours in your outfit may help.

01.   Navy

The colour of the sky and sea, it signifies depth, stability, trust and confidence. Going into an interview many people opt to wear navy because of the message it portrays. Navy is a common colour for uniforms or work suits, even at R.H. King one of the main uniform colours is navy, and that’s due to this trust that staff would like to have in students. Psychologists say that a person who wears navy will become an amazing worker and parent.

02.   Muted Tones

Colours that appear to have no colour are non-emotional, laid back, versatile and easy to match. These muted tones include sand, khaki, grey, and beige amongst others. These colours are always safe to do, when worn in an outfit they appear nonchalant. Nude is also Kim Kardashian’s favourite colour.

03.   White

White is generally considered to be a very positive colour as it signifies purity and cleanliness in many cultures. That is why white is so heavily worn in the healthcare industry by doctors and nurses. People who wear white are generally very optimistic and organized. Psychologists say that wearing white attracts reliable people.

04.   Black

Black! Black is probably the most worn colour. It is the colour that gives those who wear it power and mystery. It is the perfect colour to wear and it looks good on everyone. Many people see black as the perfect option because it goes with everything, it’s versatile and will last a long time. Black is a luxurious colour! People who wear it look stylish and like a leader.

05.   Red

Red denotes passion, anger, danger and love. It has been scientifically proven that when men or women wear the colour red, they are deemed more attractive. Red is the colour of passion and power. In the past, it has been associated with both the devil and cupid, so it gives off mixed messages of both anger and importance in people. “You should give your preference to this colour if you are going to persuade or impress somebody,” says the manager of Eredi Pisano.

06.   Olive Green

This colour signifies both ambition and wealth because it reminds people of money. When one wears olive it gives people the appearance of status and wealth. It is a combination of both blues and yellows, thus it gives off feelings of energy and tranquillity; it’s a perfect balance.
