September 30th marks Truth and Reconciliation Day in Canada, a day that recognizes Indigenous peoples’ oppression, while also celebrating their culture and banding Canadians together to help fight against systematic prejudice. At King, this semester’s NBE3U students sought to honour Indigenous peoples by sharing informative presentations regarding the 94 Calls to Action released by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada and spreading awareness by giving out pins and brochures.
Take a look at some of the work King’s students did.
