King, get ready because our annual Terry Fox walk/run is on September 27, 2024!
This is King’s 20th year participating in the goal to raise money. King has already reached their first goal of $800; now it’s time to reach the target of $3000. The proceeds of this event will go toward the Terry Fox Foundation, which strives to fund cancer research. Here’s the link to donate money online: https://schools.terryfox.ca/67986
There will also be plenty of opportunities to donate on the day of the walk/run as well. The bungee run and bouncy castle require a minimum donation of $2 to participate, while donating $1 gets one a spot to participate in cancer awareness activities. Be sure to donate to the Mentor donation table as well to win some house points.
Some free activities are dodgeball, volleyball, ultimate frisbee and face painting. For those hungry after the run, don’t worry because there will be free pizza for lunch (drinks are not provided). For a sweet treat, visit the community bake sale, where all proceeds will be donated to the Terry Fox foundation. An ice cream truck will also be present, with a portion of its earnings going towards the foundation.
