This past Friday, students and families gathered for R.H. King’s second annual Eid Dinner! Hosted by King’s Muslim Student Association, the event was a celebration of Eid al-Fitr, which commemorates the end of Ramadan.
The dinner featured a beautiful Quran recitation, a henna booth, photo booth, and even a visit from MPP Doly Begum and TDSB Trustee Malika Ghous. And most importantly, amazing food! At this year’s Eid Dinner, rice bowls from Tahini’s were served with meat and vegetarian options. Baklava was served as dessert, and a refreshing strawberry lemonade punch was available.
This celebration was a valuable opportunity for King students to embrace their religion and traditions. The Muslim Student Association worked very hard to facilitate a very festive and lively event for the King community, and will hopefully continue to do so in the coming years!
