Valentine’s Day at King

February 14, 2022

Valentine’s Day can be one of the most beautiful holidays of the year. As cheesy as it sounds and as corny as love can be, it is fun to make the most of this holiday!

At King, Valentine’s Day is a dress down day, and students are encouraged to wear pink or red to show their school spirit. At lunch, KNFC (King Food and Nutrition Council) is offering free waffles with optional toppings like whipped cream, strawberries, and syrup – they will be accepting donations as well. Make sure to check them out in A33 and bring utensils and a container!

In movies, the main character usually gives the greatest, shiniest gifts to someone special. In reality, it is not expected to go above and beyond, especially for teenagers. Something as small as a bracelet will do. The thoughts and love are what counts when it comes to gift-giving! Whether the love is romantic or platonic, it does not change the fact that it is love.

Valentine’s Day might not float everyone’s boat. There is no reason to be upset! Self-love is important too. Using Valentine’s Day to work on mental health alongside doing things out of enjoyment is perfect!

Make this Valentine’s Day count king! Spread love throughout the school and make memories that will last a lifetime!
