Books every teen should read

Most teenagers usually cannot find time out of their busy school schedules and active personal lives, to sit down and enjoy a book for fun, not to finish that english report that has had them stressing. However these books are worth to take some time out of the day. Whether it’s true romance, mystery or dystopian books, there is something for everyone.
01. Harry Potter (any of them) by J.K. Rowling
This is a classic among all ages. Some people are not into the magical aspects of the book, but as soon as you start to get into it, you won’t want to stop reading. There are 8 books in total, that you can read in order or just dive in to any, but the first one is probably the easiest to understand.
The series follows a boy named Harry, who finds out he’s a wizard. He soon attends Hogwarts, a wizard boarding school, where he embarks on new magical adventure with his new found friends.
02. The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
This book is a fan favourite with many teens. The book made a resurgence in pop culture, after a movie adaptation hit theatres and became a new teen classic. This book so many teens can personally relate to.
The book follows a boy named Charlie, who is socially awkward, with a hard past, as he meets two teens who are very electric and free-spirited. They help Charlie start to get the most out of life. The book is a roller coaster, that makes you laugh, cry and everything in between.
03. The Hate You Give by Angie Thomas
A newer book that has made waves with younger readers, as it discusses important social issues with younger readers making it easier for them to understand. It is a must read, especially with the issue of racism being so vocalized now.
The book is about a girl named Starr, who basically lives in two worlds, the wealthy mostly white neighbourhood and the black neighbourhood. She witnesses the shooting and death of her childhood friend, who was wronged by the police. She realizes the differences between her worlds and starts to stand up for what she thinks is right.
