British actress, model and activist, Emma Watson (30) has been trending all over the media, after an article posted by The Daily Mail rumoured about her stepping back from her acting career to focus on settling down with her fiancée, Leo Robinton (31).
Emma Watson has been famous ever since she co-starred with Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint in the popular Harry Potter Franchise at the age of 9, playing the role of Hermione Granger. Her career has been booming ever since. She went on to play other older roles in movies such as “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” in 2010 as Sam Button, “Beauty and The Beast” in 2017 as Belle, “The Circle” in 2017 as Mae Holland and“Little Women” in 2019, as Meg March. Along with acting, Watson also has a modelling career that she started back in 2005 when she modelled for Teen Vogue and became the youngest person to cover the magazine.
On top of being an actress and model, Emma has always been a proud feminist and a huge activist in equal education rights for girls and boys in developing countries. In 2014, she was appointed as “UN Goodwill Ambassador” and has been raising awareness for countless issues using her platforms. Emma admits that she got into activism after being sexualized in the media at the age of 14, and continues to be an ally for everyone without a voice.
So with all of this and more on Emma Watson’s plate, is the beloved public figure really stepping back from her acting career? The Daily Mail’s source reports, “Emma Watson has gone ‘dormant’ according to her agent,”. Emma’s agent then replies, “Emma’s social media accounts are dormant but her career isn’t”. Implying that even though Emma has been taking lighter workloads as an actress, she isn’t stepping back just yet.
Even if the reported information on “The Daily Mail” were true, Emma Watson sacrificed her childhood and schooling just to entertain and be on screen for her fans. Even if she were to step back, fans should respect her decision and thank her for the countless hours she spent filming for their entertainment.
Fans can expect to see Emma acting, modelling and especially being an activist much more in the coming years.
