This school year, R.H. King has another brand new student association: the East Asian Student Association (EASA)! The association is dedicated to bringing together East Asian students, and sharing their diverse and rich cultures with the school. Meetings are held every Thursday at lunch in room C68.
EASA will be holding their first official events in the next few weeks for Halloween. For their first event, they will be hosting a spooky movie gathering. They will be screening the movie Kubo and the Two Strings, an animated fantasy film about a young boy in Japan fighting against a vengeful spirit. The gathering will take place in room C68 on Friday, October 24 from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Students are urged to bring their own blankets, snacks, and plushies, and the association will also be providing snacks. The event is sign-up only. Students can sign up using this Google Form by October 23: https://forms.gle/qyWZPKE6NxNH9BKX9.
EASA’s second Halloween event will be an interactive photo event. Students can take photos as mythical creatures from East Asian culture. EASA members will be going around the school on Wednesday, October 29 with masks of the mythical monsters for students to pose with.
Keep an eye out for more fun events from the East Asian Student Association!
