The student election results King has been waiting for have been revealed! The student council for the 2025-2026 school year has been decided.
Congratulations to all the winners and a great job to every candidate!
The most competitive position in this year’s election was for the Grade 9 representatives, with almost 10 candidates. Eqra and Ayman were elected to represent their grade. The high number of candidates and strong campaigns made this a particularly exciting contest.
For Grade 10, Dhivya and Evangeline were chosen as representatives.
In the junior executive roles, Daniel was selected as the Junior Communications Officer, while Noraiz secured the position of Junior Secretary. Both are expected to bring fresh ideas and energy to the council.
Nishuti and Aadit were elected to represent Grade 11. With their strong presence and involvement in school life, they aim to make a meaningful impact this year.
Ryley was elected as the Senior Communications Officer, and Owen will take on the role of Senior Secretary. Owen, the newly elected Grade 12, says, “I feel excited, honoured, and ready to serve as your King Student Council Secretary! For me, winning the election isn’t about the title, but about the responsibility to help make school life more inclusive, engaged, and supportive for each student through fun and consistent initiatives!”
Damien and Fariza will serve as the Grade 12 representatives. They were the only students to apply for the position, and as such, were selected without a contested vote.
An unusual outcome this year was the election of two Vice Presidents: Dulansa and Amarie. This is uncommon, as the role is typically held by one person, but the close voting count made it clear that they are both well-equipped for the job!
Ahnaaf was the sole candidate for President and was elected unopposed. However, Mahima, a fellow Grade 12 student, notes, “I’m confident Ahnaaf would have won, anyway, due to his prior experience on the council and his outgoing, approachable personality.”
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!
