The live-action film for How to Train Your Dragon will be released in theatres on June 13, 2025.
The original animated movie, released in 2010, created a large fan base for this franchise, and fans are ecstatic to find out that there will be a remake featuring real actors, bringing them back to their childhood.
The live-action film is being directed by Dean DeBlois, who also directed the original animated trilogy. This gives fans hope that the new movie will stay true to the original story.
Mason Thames has been cast as Hiccup, and Nico Parker will play Astrid. In the official trailer released by Universal Pictures, viewers can see that many of the main events from the original movie will still be included in the live-action version. The trailer shows familiar scenes, including Hiccup’s first encounter with Toothless.
Just like the animated movie, the story shows Hiccup, a young Viking who lives in a village where dragons are feared and hunted. He meets a dragon named Toothless and learns that dragons are not as dangerous as everyone believes. They work together to save the village and change how they view dragons. The plot is full of adventure, courage, and friendship.
The movie will also be available in IMAX, so viewers should look forward to a high-quality film! Not only will this movie be released, but so will a live-action sequel to How to Train Your Dragon. The second movie for this animated classic is confirmed to be in theatres on June 11, 2027.
Fans of the original movie and new viewers are looking forward to seeing this story come to life in this live-action movie!
