Every semester, the Kingsley Voice, R.H. King Academy’s official newspaper, comes out with a physical print paper edition. This Tuesday, big things are coming: all about generations and legacy, the 2025 Spring issue will be released.

We loved exploring this topic as it allowed us to address the evolution of King and many of the recent changes the school has faced. Whether it be the Wellness Week’s removal and cancellation or the discontinuation of mandatory uniforms, it’s important that students are speaking up to see the changes they want—or don’t want—to see. Coming together in large groups to voice your opinions improves the chances of positive changes actually happening. Articles, petitions and even just spreading the word can make a big difference in making sure King evolves into a school that serves its students well. Student efforts allow King’s reputation as a model school to live on for generations.
At the very front of our issue, we decided to highlight an individual that has made everlasting contributions to King: Malcolm Simmonds. After working at King for 35 years as a dedicated caretaker, Simmonds is to retire. The time that he has spent at the Academy has allowed him to observe countless generations of students and the evolution of King as a result. We are ecstatic to be able to share his invaluable experiences with the King community.
The theme of generations and legacy fit very well with King but also allowed our newspaper to explore other avenues, writing interesting articles about a variety of topics.

Expect other articles about:
- Marvel’s identity crisis
- The declining quality of romance novels
- Reboots: nostalgic or unnecessary?
- The evolution of diseases through the years
- Tradwives and romanticizing the past
- Prison press: how journalism aids inmates
- Books destined for classic status
- Films that have stood the test of time
