The delicate sun-kissed touch at the top of the hill
Which shoots me to the heavens
To bud anew
Your stinging kiss that takes my sweetness away
But transforms smiles like a revealing fairytale
My ambrosial fragrance
That lingers in the humid air
Harmonizing with the melodious screams of children playing Petals used to count undying love
To tie people together like a mother’s affection
Can it last for an eternity?
Now overborne with the pungent odour
Of eggs left out too long
Screams of perfect pitch
Deafen with out-of-tune rhythms
The once beautiful meadows of red, yellow, and blue
Painted in a blanket of chocolate
As the world fades into oblivion
The once gentle toy trucks with a whirring vroom
Become colossal rolling pins
The buckets and shovels once used to dig in the sandbox
Become excavators that destroy my home
Can it ever go back to the eternity I longed for?
Will the sagging smoke clouds reveal the giant orb of warmth once again?
Will the sounds of laughter replace the echoing screeches?
But with the springtime dawn
A new wind rushes through my petals
And washes the clouds away
In the midst of it all, a cage of air
Becomes solid as it wraps around the garden I call home
My black and white vision becomes full of colour
Butterflies flush me with delicate touches
How blind I have been!
The colourful petals never disappear
Neither do the sounds of happiness
The screeches have disappeared
And the clouds reveal the warmth again
I am submerged in the Sun
The beautiful greenhouse around me
Rejuvenates the misery within my stem
The new insects walk past me; the wind blows between my roots
And begins the journey for auspicious days to come
